UBS Energy Canada Increases MAP II Holdings
The Balancing Pool announces the purchase by UBS Energy Canada Ltd. (UBS) of a 78MW Sheerness Energy Strip Contract and a 157MW Clover Bar Unit Contract from Duke Energy Marketing. This is in addition to the 200MW's of Sheerness MAP II contracts currently held by UBS.

Following this transaction, ten different market participants now control the capacity of the Sheerness and Genesee PPAs and three of the four Clover Bar units. The MAP II process has been successful in attracting seven new entrants to the Alberta power market.
