Expressions of Interest sought for Purchase of Clover Bar Unit Contract

 

The Balancing Pool is inviting expressions of interest for the proposed sale of one, 157 MW unit-specific power contract (Unit Contract) related to the Clover Bar Power Purchase Arrangement.

The buyer of the Unit Contract will acquire the right to offer and sell energy, capacity and ancillary services entitlements in respect of the Unit Contract and will be in control of the full offer strategy for the unit. These entitlements will be subject to the physical risks of the unit.

The Clover Bar Unit Contracts are tolling arrangements and the buyer will be responsible for purchasing gas for the Unit.

The contract will transfer control of the offer strategy for Clover Bar Unit 3 effective January 1, 2005 for a minimum six-month period to June 30, 2005.

The sale process is being conducted through an open solicitation process with the timeline as follows:

Submission of Expressions of Interest November 1, 2004
Submissions of Indicative Bids November 24, 2004
Submission of Final Bids December 1, 2004
Transfer of Control January 1, 2005

Parties interested in participating in the sales process for the Clover Bar Unit Contract should submit the following information to the Balancing Pool by November 1, 2004:

  • The entity or consortium that would be interested in purchasing the Clover Bar Unit Contract, a brief description of the entity with emphasis on the ownership of the entity and its financial strength.

  • The name, address, telephone number and e-mail details of a contact person for the entity or consortium.
